The crew at the station will oversee the recruits continuing training and education on the job, insuring that they safely learn how to apply the education and techniques they learned in the academy. The class is scheduled to graduate in June.
My first assignment on Saturday was to shoot the Greece Thunder vs Ithaca at Brockport. As I got to the arena, the parking lot was packed with cars from the first game where Webster Thomas played. It was a long walk in the rain to get inside the arena. Once inside, it was even more crowded with fans from the first game still there and fans for the 4pm game starting to come in. After staking out the arena, I decided to shoot from the visitor side at the red line. This would give me a shot of the Greece fans if there was a lot of celebrating. This was my first time in Brockport, and it was a nice and bright. There were a lot of Ithaca fans there and they were vocal. Ithaca had on bright red and yellow uniforms and so did many of their fans. The game was really close till the end of the second period when Greece scored what would end up being the only goal of the game. Both teams played really hard and skated well. Greece had a bunch of shots go off the post. It is a cool to hear the ding when the puck goes off the pipe. The only thing that surprised me was the lack of enthusiasm from the Greece fans. They only went crazy when they scored and the end of the game.
